I’m Nathan Lauzon, founder of Notorious Suites. With a BSc in Construction Project Management, PMP certification, and hands-on experience—from commercial and residential builds to hospitals, skyscrapers, and large-scale developments—I’ve mastered precise scheduling, budgeting, and quality control.

Frustrated by residential builders’ project-management gaps causing cost overruns and delays, I started Notorious Suites to deliver professional, efficient, and high-quality basement-suite construction in Calgary.

FAQ's

Every project we complete comes with a one-year workmanship warranty. If anything, we’ve installed isn’t holding up the way it should within the first year, we’ll come back and make it right at no extra cost to you. On top of that, any materials we use are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, and we’re happy to help facilitate those claims if needed. We stand behind the quality of our work, and our warranty reflects that.

Absolutely. We are fully licensed to operate in the City of Calgary and all surrounding municipalities, and we carry general liability insurance along with WCB coverage for all workers and trades on site. We also hold a Prepaid Contractor Licence with the Government of Alberta, which legally allows us to collect deposits, something many homeowners are not even aware is required. This licence requires us to post a security bond, offering added protection and peace of mind for our clients. Bottom line: we do things by the book, no shortcuts.

Project timelines depend on the scope, but in general, a standard basement development takes about 8 weeks, while a legal secondary suite typically takes around 12 weeks from start to finish. Every project is a little different, but thanks to our extensive experience managing and delivering renovations, these timelines are very achievable and reflect our typical build schedule.

We provide firm, to the dollar quotes so you know exactly what to expect. The number on your quote is the number you pay. The only time that number changes is if you decide to make changes to the scope, and those changes are always discussed and approved by you before anything moves forward. Transparency is a key part of how we do business.
